Solheimajokull, Iceland
Another cool spot I had to myself as I was out exploring in the midnight sun. This was during the twilight but never darkness between the sunset I had just experienced and the approaching dawn. It wasn't looking promising when I walked in as the area was obscured in thick fog but right once I made it to the view point a complete open pocket in the fog split open revealing the base of the glacier. By the time I got my wits about me again and gotten to this more telephoto composition it had begun to close and there were these awesome ever so slight wisps of fog curling across the top of the ice. Very spooky sometimes to hear the hollow echoing of breaking ice in a thick fog alone in the mountains. In some ways the fog rolling back in was deeply appreciated as it meant I was done and could head back to base to sleep on time.
