This gang of keas were ringed around a helicopter pilot who was defending his aircraft since they apparently like to take them apart for sport. However after talking to them while passing by they decided they wanted to pilfer my gear thinking the tired hiker was an easier target maybe. At one point it did really feel like they wanted to mug me for my hiking pole. We came to a truce though when I showed them they were not strong enough to carry the pole nor did the end pieces come off as trophies so we settled into a detente where we hung out for a bit with them very curious about my camera lens and the shutter mechanism noises. I have quite a few and will probably post more of them creeping over to me. Very happy to have finally found them after spending many weekends going up and down mountains hoping to spot them!
