I was getting the sun lined with the center orb of the sculpture, the warm direct light of a summer afternoon in Calgary, and the silhouettes of folks passing through that attracted to me this composition. Generally not a big street photography person but here I felt like there so many layers of what felt like late afternoon that I wanted to go for it and that the sun behind folks backs would help obscure them into non obvious passerbys in the photos too. The island park was also a new place that had opened in Calgary and a public and nature-y one too so it was exciting to be in a space that was not suburbia.
