Initially this was supposed to be a more classic landscape shot out over the city with the setting sun. But, when I got up there I realized there was a not of an ugly chain link fence keeping folks on the hill top that a wide shot would really struggle to get over. Playing around I switched to a longer lens and realized the sunset was going to burst forth in the upper right of the frame between two sets of hills making for a really cool collapsed perspective of Alhambra against the backdrop of that light bursting through. Was really neat how the haziness of the air lent itself to the photo instead of against it for a change too. Very impressed with all the folks running the switch backs too and heading off into the hills and olive groves. Also sorry to the strangers who asked for my insta to see the final shots as this was taken in like October 2023 and it's going up on my personal website only in January 2026!
